Fun Fact! (5 facts you might not have known)

Fun Fact 1: Selfie! I for one love taking selfies with my friends and family! But I came to believe that the word selfie came from us millennial’s today, but I was wrong the concept of taking a selfie came from a man named Robert Cornelius! He was a chemist who loved photography and decided to stand in front of a camera and smile!

First Selfie Ever!

Fun Fact 2: Lost and now found The first person to ever take a photo went by the name Joseph Nicéphore in 1826. It took him 8 hours! Instead of the seconds it takes us to take! And after all his hard work his picture was lost! After about 50 years or so Historians finally found it!

First Photo ever taken!

Fun Fact 3: In Space?Do you remember the pictures taken of the first man to ever walk on the moon? But did you know that those cameras that took that photo are still on the moon today! 50 years later and they are still there! The weight of the cameras were so much that they could not bring them back with them! So there are about 12 cameras still up there!

“One step for man one leap for man kind”

Fun Fact 4: Photography Dangerous? Did you know that the chemicals that go into developing photography was dangerous?! The things that were added were Mercury, Lye, Silver Nitrate and more! Photographers would have to take breaks because the chemicals were so bad that it caused madness and sometimes even illness in extreme cases!

Fun Fact 5: The most viewed picture in the world!: Think about the time you look at your desktop computer screensaver before you change it to one with your friend what do you see? Is it a bright blue sky and a green hill? Well that picture is called bliss and it just so happens to be the most viewed picture in the entire world!

Bliss!

Where do I start?

I started really getting into photography when I was about sixteen years old and in the beginning I did not know where to start how to take action on to start my love for photography and hopefully be good at it some day. To this day I am still very much a beginner at photography but I believe I have been able to find my start and my action that I would like to share. And somethings that I have learned from the article 10 things I wish I knew before starting photography.

The first thing that I learned when taking action on starting to take photography really seriously is to start taking pictures in different areas instead of just those random selfies in random places. I am starting to look at things in a different perspective and looking at things I never really thought was something I could photograph. For example, the old chair in the corner, or the bug that landed on the flower. That is also the first step in the article that I guess I never really took into consideration until someone wrote it down and I thought to myself I do that. I believe that if you really want to start to take action you don’t need to stop taking selfies randomly, but maybe start taking them in different areas instead of just outside on the grass on sunny days or on the couch maybe try taking them at the park under a unique tree or at the beach with the waves in the background.

Secondly, as much as I love the art of photography I learned that it is a very expensive thing to do cameras today are very expensive, the equipment if you want to upgrade your camera is expensive but I do believe that an investment of a professional photography camera is worth it in the end. I believe the photos you end up taking with it somehow pays yourself back. I started taking photos on a professional camera that was provided to me from my high school when I was 16, but then I graduated high school and was back to using my camera on my iPhone which is still a good camera but not as great as a professional one. I am now almost 21 years old and a junior in college and have been gifted my first professional camera and it is something that has really changed my vision of photography and has helped me take my first step into taking action for taking my photography seriously. And I believe that it will soon help you as well as much as they are expensive I do believe that the moment you get your professional camera you will soon know the first step into taking your photography more seriously as well.

Lastly something I believe helped me take my first step into taking action about my photography is to always have FUN! I believe that if I am not having fun with it I do not believe that I would still continue to do it. But I believe that finding that perfect moment in the day, or just at that second makes photography so much fun! I always believe that there is a split second in time that shouts out to me to take a picture of it. And I believe that is the best thing about photography!

I hope these steps from the article and the steps from myself have helped you decide to make that first and exciting step into taking your photography seriously and maybe even to the next level! I hope as a beginner I have helped a long the way! Always try to remember to watch out for those perfect moments and to always have FUN!

How do I decide what to Photograph?

A question that I believe is important to ask yourself if you are photographer or just love to take photos is how do I decide what to photograph? When I’m with friends or just on my own with a camera I always ask myself is this moment I should just soak up in memory or to take a photo to forever have this memory in a frame. Whether its a photo of a flower close up from my favorite place to visit over the summer or maybe its a family member or a friend laughing or just doing something random and I want to remember that moment. I believe that this question should be raised to a lot of photographers or just to people who enjoy the art of taking photos how do we decide when is the best time to photograph something what is the best moment that you want to freeze forever.

Remember Me?

  1. What sort of things will you be writing about?  Some things that I will be writing about in my blog are about my photos that I have taken over the few years that I have enjoyed photography. Some include pictures with friends and family explaining what was going on during the pictures, how I’ve met some of the people in the photos etc. I will also be talking about some of the pictures I have taken outside of either plants, landscapes, animals and writing about how the picture was taken, and when it was taken
  2. What is your publication not going to be about? Some things that I won’t be adding to this publication is the concept of photography, it will be based more on my own photography instead of the general idea of photography.
  3. What drew me to this topic? I love being able to remember things that have happened in the past and having something to remind of the fun times I have had with people that are most important to me and I believe the best way to remember something is through the art of photography. I am able to look back on funny moments with friends and family, or remember what the sunset looked like a couple of summers ago because I was able to snap a quick shot that would forever be in my memory.
  4. Regarding to my topic, what inspires me the most? Regarding to my topic that thing that inspires me the most really is just the moment. I believe the perfect moment is the inspiration to a lot of people’s photography and it has been an inspiration to many of my photos. Whether it be a time with friends over summer break, or that perfect sunset you just can’t not take a picture of.
  5. What sort of readers (or other writers) would I like to connect with via your publication? The sort of readers or writers that I would like to connect with via my publication are those who enjoy photography.
  6. What do I hope readers might get out of reading (and interacting with) my publication? Something I hope readers get out of viewing my publication is that my photos are similar to theirs but also at the same time very different and that we can connect on the similarities and respect the differences of our photography whether that may be on the photos or the way that the photos were taken.
